Chinese Blessing Gods: Hok Lok Siew

Each of the three Chinese gods represents specific virtues that are believed will be bestowed upon members of a household owning:

  • Hok (Fok in Mandarin) which symbolizes good fortune, wealth and prosperity.
  • Lok (Luk in Mandarin) which symbolizes good health, success, family happiness and mutual love. He bears a gold ingot and Ru Yi of authority. The sign of power and abundant wealth ensures a family will always have enough of everything.
  • Siew (Sau in Mandarin) which symbolizes longevity He brings good health and long life free from stress and obstacles.
These three things: to be happy, prosperous and live a long healthy life, are what most people look for during their lifetime as the symbolic achievement of life fulfillment. Chinese folklore has it that these three things are controlled by the three deities, the Hok, Lok and Siew, trinity of health, wealth and prosperity.

Display the Hok Lok and Siew in a prominent part of your home, preferably where you can see them and be blessed with good fortune as soon as you walk in. They should not be placed in bedrooms since these are places of rest and unsuited to the more active energies of the heavenly trio.
